Photo shoots designed just for kids.

It's here! Brand new for Fall 2015, Mintwood Photo Co. has re-designed picture day. We are so excited to be sharing with you, Play + Snap: Photo shoots designed just for kids. So what's the difference exactly? Each 45 minute session involves dress up, imagination, and distraction. Working as a team (and parents, you can help!) we give each child some props and a character to embody. Then while they play, we'll be snapping away.  Instead of being posed and instructed to smile, we'll get your kids laughing all on their own--catching candid moments like never before. Plus we'll turn it all into their very own storybook, starring your child as the main character.

We're booking a limited number of these at the introductory price of: $175. So act fast and sign up!

Olivia and Lacy | Waverly, GA

“True friends are always together in spirit.”
 L.M. MontgomeryAnne of Green Gables

Olivia (the girl) and Lacy (the horse) have been together for 8 years. The time they spent preparing for (and competing at) horse shows drew them closer than sisters. For years they shared as much of their time as they could. Now, Olivia will be leaving home to attend Belmont University in the fall. Knowing she would have to leave Lacy back at home in Georgia, Olivia jumped at the opportunity to have some special photographs taken of the two of them together.

Congratulations on your graduation, Olivia! I know that Lacy is so proud of you :)

Annie on Ida Street, Signature (Blogger) Style | Cincinnati, OH

Welcome to Ida Street! You are now officially transported to the world of style blogger, Annie Butler. She and I go back a few years (think 2008) when we waitressed together in college. Since then we haven't kept in touch except through mutual stalking of each other's creative ventures which is why I was thrilled when she hired me to photograph her at home/work/studio for the re-launch of her blog.

Annie has this great poster in her kitchen that says, "but first, COFFEE" :) I knew I liked this girl! As she made coffee I got busy photographing all the little details that make her apartment slash studio so great.

" This is where I write to you guys almost every single night &  where I binge watch Netflix like it's nobody's business. This is where I'm learning to cook & budget & figure out who I am & how to succeed. "
-Annie Butler

Adorable, isn't it?! I think I could just move in. Annie has an awesome signature style. Lots of vintage/industrial furniture pieces, exposed walls and ceilings, and tons of wall decor. She has so many photographs from place she's lived and loved. It's fitting that she would name her blog after the street she calls home!

"With less space in the studio I had to get creative about surfaces. Purses went on the wall. Hats went onto hooks. & pictures went onto the fridge." -Annie
"But mostly, when you live alone, you learn about yourself. & that's some pretty good company"  -Annie

And then we ventured outside for some fun portraits around her neighborhood. Annie is trendy, laid back, and always smiling. Her blog is all things fresh and fun and exciting. Hear it from her:

"Ida Street is a real place. I moved there just after my 24th birthday.  It was in that very first apartment of my own that this blog started taking shape. Here is a space that I document the things on the mind of a twenty something: fashion & style, young adult life, learning how to cook, the cool/hip spots to hit in Cincinnati (holla at my hometown!). You know... the kind of things that happen on Ida Street." -Annie

Olivia Dixon, Signature Style | St Simons, GA

This past weekend was the Golden Isles Bridal Show, where we had a vendor booth! It was out very first ever show and such a huge success. Thank you to all the amazing brides who stopped by our booth!

But the first person I photographed following the event was not a bride. Meet Olivia Dixon. She was modeling in the booth next to ours and approached me later in the day about doing headshot for her drama portfolio. Of course I said YES and we met the following morning to take these pictures. Olivia is a natural in front of the camera Her beauty is absolutely effortless and I loved working with her on these photos. Enjoy!

How much do you love that last one?! I keep trying to figure out who she most looks like. Maybe a young Meryl Streep? A little bit of Kate Winslet?

Olivia is such a talented model, it was a joy to work with her. I can't wait to see her career take off when she starts at Belmont in the fall! Best of luck, Olivia!
