Happy Saturday! No weddings for me today and I'm loving this Saturday-at-home thing. It feels great to catch up on a few things around the house and get outside, too. Hopefully you're having weather as sunny and glorious as we are here in Georgia but if you're not then try to absorb some of it from these pictures today! This engagement shoot took place at the Great Satilla Preserve in Folkston, GA. The bride to be, Mary Margaret, and her fiancé Ben are planning their fall wedding to take place at her family's cabin there. It's going to be g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!
So, meet Mary Margaret and Ben.....
Super adorable, right? We met up last Friday and drove together to Folkson, GA (about 30 minutes away) and during the car ride I learned a lot about these two. To preface, Mary Margaret is the one telling most of the stories; she's bright and animated and immediately I feel like I'm talking to an old friend. Ben feels more like the strong-silent-type, adding in or confirming details now and then but mostly letting his fiancé do the talking. I'll soon learn that Ben has his fair share stories ;)
One thing I learned is that these two came very close to never meeting at all. From the first time Ben saw Mary Margaret he couldn't get her off his mind. She was cute and funny and creative and....their paths almost never, ever crossed. What Ben didn't know is that Mary Margaret had been noticing him while he was noticing her. She had so much going on at the time though that she, too, had assumed they'd probably never really get to meet. Several months passed and Ben couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to get in touch with her. He tracked down her email address and sent her a brief, sweet message (hoping she would remember him even a little bit so it wasn't creepy) and asked her out for coffee. She agreed and a few days later they met up at Starbucks. Where she learned he doesn't drink coffee (he ordered hot chocolate!) something they laugh about still. :) These two are FUN. I hope you love seeing their engagement session as much as I loved photographing it. Enjoy!
So. much. beauty. Thanks, Mary Margaret and Ben! I am so looking forward to your wedding!
